The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) worked with Vergys to improve the quality of its capital planning submissions. The data that was used to support the capital planning submissions (e.g., project management, risk, and financial data) was inconsistent, difficult to gather, and often unreliable. The Agency also sought to improve its ability to efficiently and quickly review, score, and distribute reports on the quality of their Exhibit 300 submissions.
The Vergys team designed, tested, and deployed an application within EPA that allowed participants to collaboratively score submissions, submit feedback, perform peer reviews, and generate a finalized management report. The team also designed and deployed templates to extract financial and project management data from multiple data sources. Those templates were subsequently used to upload large quantities of data into the capital planning system of record. Through the use of standard office applications, the Vergys team helped the EPA streamline data collection and data entry, reduce errors, and improve investment management reporting.
